Asphalt Paving in Ocean County, NJ (Toms River & North)

We pave asphalt driveways and parking lots in northern Ocean County, from Toms River north to Brick, Lakewood, Jackson and the Point Pleasant area. Family-owned, licensed and insured, with free estimates.

Our Ocean County line: Toms River and north

We work in the northern part of Ocean County, from Toms River north. That means Toms River, Brick, Lakewood, Jackson, Manchester, Point Pleasant, Point Pleasant Beach, Bay Head and Mantoloking. Towns south of Toms River are outside our service area, and we do not take jobs there. We would rather tell you that up front than make you wait for a callback.

One common mix-up: Ocean Township, home to Oakhurst and Wanamassa, is in Monmouth County, not Ocean County. We serve it too, along with every other Monmouth County town on our Monmouth County page.

We are a mobile, family-owned asphalt crew with no storefront. Dan meets you at the property, measures, looks at the drainage and gives you a free estimate. Call or text 732-403-3053 to set one up.

What we pave in northern Ocean County

Driveways are the bulk of our Ocean County work. That includes brand-new asphalt driveways on new construction, full tear-out and replacement of driveways that have broken up, and milling and repaving of driveways whose base is still solid. Homeowners in growing neighborhoods also ask us to widen driveways for extra cars, boats or trailers.

We also handle parking lot paving for HOAs, active-adult and condo communities, small retail centers, offices and houses of worship. Communities with private roads and shared parking areas often need work planned in phases, so residents can still get in and out. Where only a few areas have failed, digging those sections out, rebuilding the base and milling and repaving the rest is often the sensible approach.

The towns we serve, and what makes each one different

Northern Ocean County covers a lot of ground, from barrier-island beach towns to the edge of the Pine Barrens.

  • Toms River is the county seat and sits along the Toms River where it meets Barnegat Bay. It is a big township with everything from older bayside neighborhoods to newer subdivisions off Route 37 and Route 9.
  • Brick wraps around the Metedeconk River and the upper part of Barnegat Bay, with plenty of lagoon and waterfront homes where drainage and low ground need planning.
  • Lakewood is one of the fastest-growing towns in the state, with new homes, multifamily buildings and busy commercial lots along Route 9. Lake Carasaljo sits near its center.
  • Jackson is a large, spread-out township and home to Six Flags Great Adventure. Many properties have larger lots and longer driveways than you see closer to the coast.
  • Manchester sits on the edge of the Pine Barrens and has many active-adult communities with shared roads and parking areas.
  • Point Pleasant borders the Manasquan River and the Point Pleasant Canal, so many homes are close to the water.
  • Point Pleasant Beach has the boardwalk and Jenkinson’s, plus a mix of year-round homes and summer rentals on small lots.
  • Bay Head and Mantoloking sit on the barrier island between the ocean and Barnegat Bay, where lots are tight and homes sit close to sea level.

Sand, water and the Pine Barrens edge

Much of northern Ocean County sits on sandy soil. Inland, toward Jackson and Manchester, the ground is the classic sandy Pine Barrens soil that drains fast. That is good news for runoff, but loose sand needs to be compacted well and topped with a firm aggregate base, or the edges of a driveway can settle and crack.

Closer to the bay and the rivers, the challenge is different. Low ground and a higher water table mean water has fewer places to go. On those properties we look closely at the grade, set the pitch so water flows toward the street or a drainage area, and avoid creating spots where water sits against the house or garage. On the barrier island, wind-blown sand and salt air are part of life, so a dense, properly compacted surface matters.

How we schedule Ocean County jobs

We work out of the region as a mobile crew, so we group nearby jobs and estimates to cut down on travel. If we are paving in Brick, we might stop at a property in Point Pleasant or Toms River on the same trip. That keeps things efficient for everyone.

Summer is a busy season at the shore, with heavier traffic and in some beach towns there may be local limits on construction during peak months. Spring and early fall are often the easiest windows for barrier-island work. Asphalt needs dry, mild weather to compact properly, so we do not pave in rain or deep cold.

Questions about paving here

Exactly which part of Ocean County do you serve?

We serve Ocean County from Toms River north. That includes Toms River, Brick, Lakewood, Jackson, Manchester, Point Pleasant, Point Pleasant Beach, Bay Head and Mantoloking. Towns south of Toms River are outside our service area, so we do not take jobs there. If you are not sure which side of the line you are on, call or text 732-403-3053 and we will tell you.

I live in Ocean Township. Is that this page?

No. Ocean Township, which includes Oakhurst and Wanamassa, is in Monmouth County, not Ocean County. It has its own Ocean Township page under our Monmouth County service area. We serve it, along with the rest of Monmouth County, so you are covered either way.

Does sandy soil make a difference for a new driveway?

Yes, in a few ways. Sandy ground drains quickly, which helps, but it can shift if the base is thin or poorly compacted, and in low spots near the bay the water table can sit close to the surface. We check for soft areas, build a compacted aggregate base to the right depth, and set the pitch so water leaves the driveway instead of sitting along the edges.

Do you pave parking lots for HOAs and communities in Ocean County?

Yes. We pave and repave parking areas for HOAs, condo associations, small businesses, offices and houses of worship in our Ocean County area. Typical work includes milling the worn surface, rebuilding failed base areas, and paving a new layer. We plan the work in sections when residents or customers need to keep using part of the lot.

When is the best time to schedule paving in Ocean County?

Asphalt goes down best in dry, mild weather, so our season runs from spring into late fall. Summer is busy at the shore, and some beach towns may limit construction work during peak season, so it pays to plan ahead. Call or text early and we will give you a straight answer on timing.
