A family business that does one thing
Dan The Paver is a family-owned asphalt paving company in New Jersey. We do one thing, asphalt paving, for three kinds of customers: homeowners who need an asphalt driveway, businesses and associations with parking lots and commercial properties, and builders who need roads and streets in new neighborhoods. Milling, grading, base prep and drainage work are all part of how we do that paving well, but we do not branch out into other trades. Keeping our focus narrow is how we keep our work consistent.
Dan owns the business and runs the jobs. He meets you for the estimate, he is the person you talk to while the work is being planned, and he is there to make sure the job is done the way it was promised.

We are licensed and insured. Our New Jersey Home Improvement Contractor registration is NJ HIC #13VH03282800. You will find it in the footer of every page on this site. We think every homeowner should ask a contractor for that number, and we are glad to give it.
A mobile crew that comes to you
We do not have a storefront, a showroom or a yard you need to visit. We are a mobile crew, and the work happens at your property. That keeps things simple: you call or text, Dan comes out, looks at the driveway or lot, measures, and talks through your options right there.
We work across three areas of New Jersey:
- All of Monmouth County, from the Bayshore to the shore towns to the farms out west.
- Ocean County from Toms River north, including Brick, Lakewood, Jackson, Manchester and the Point Pleasant area.
- Southern Middlesex County: Old Bridge, Sayreville, South Amboy, Edison and the towns south of them.
How we work
Straight answers
If your driveway can be milled and repaved on its existing base, we will tell you. If the base has failed and new asphalt on top would just crack again, we will tell you that too, even if it means a bigger job or no job at all. Estimates are free, and we explain what we see so you understand what you are paying for. Our how driveway jobs are priced walks through the same factors we look at on-site.
The work you do not see
Most of what makes asphalt last is underneath it. We dig out soft ground, build and compact a proper base, and set the grade so water drains away from your house and off the surface. Then we pave and roll the asphalt to the right thickness for how the driveway or lot will be used.
Clean sites
We treat your property like it is our own. We protect what is around the work area, keep the job site organized, and clean up when we are done, including hauling away old material when we tear out a driveway.
A final walkthrough
When the paving is finished, we walk the job with you. We look at the edges, the tie-ins at the street and garage, and the drainage, and we tell you how long to stay off the new surface and how to care for it while it cures.
