Morganville is a residential community in the northern part of Marlboro Township, in Monmouth County. It is not a separate town; it is an unincorporated place with its own post office name and ZIP code, and many residents use “Morganville” on their mail while paying taxes to Marlboro. Dan The Paver installs and replaces asphalt driveways for Morganville homes and paves parking lots for nearby businesses and organizations.
Farmland that became neighborhoods
Much of Morganville was orchards and fields before subdivisions filled in. Today it is mostly larger single-family homes on cul-de-sacs and winding streets, with two- and three-car driveways, side-load garages and the occasional circular drive. Route 79 runs through the area, and Tennent Road is a main local route.
Many of these driveways were installed when the houses were built and have never been fully replaced. After enough freeze-thaw cycles, the edges break down, the surface turns gray and brittle, and cracks spread from the garage outward. If the base is still solid, we can mill off the worn top layer and repave. If the drive has settled into ruts or alligator cracking, we tear it out and rebuild it.
What the ground is like
Former farm soil is a mix: good topsoil on top, with layers of sandy loam and some clay below. Builders sometimes left organic material under the original driveway, which slowly compresses and lets the surface sag. When we replace a Morganville driveway, we dig below that layer, install a compacted aggregate base and grade the surface so water heads away from the house and into the lawn or street.
Businesses and shared lots
Commercial pavement around Morganville is mostly found along Route 79 and the nearby roads that connect into Marlboro and Matawan, including small retail centers, offices, child care centers and houses of worship. These lots get stop-and-go traffic at drop-off hours, so entrances and drive aisles wear first.

Morganville paving questions
Is Morganville its own town for permits, or do I go through Marlboro?
Morganville is not a separate municipality. It is a community with its own mailing name inside Marlboro Township, so driveway and apron questions go to the Marlboro Township construction and zoning office. When you call, give them your street address rather than just the Morganville name so they pull the right lot records.
Our cul-de-sac driveway in Morganville has a dip where the old drive meets the street. Can that be fixed?
Usually. That dip is often caused by a settled apron or a base that was never compacted well where the drive meets the road. We cut out the failed area, rebuild and compact the base, and re-pitch the apron so water flows to the gutter instead of collecting. Any work in the road right-of-way may need township sign-off first.
