Asphalt Driveway & Parking Lot Paving in Loch Arbour, NJ

Asphalt driveways and parking lots in Loch Arbour: excavation, base, grading and paving by a family-owned, licensed crew. Free estimates.

Loch Arbour is one of the smallest municipalities in New Jersey: a village of just a few blocks on the Monmouth County oceanfront, between Deal Lake to the south and Allenhurst to the north, with Ocean Township to the west. Dan The Paver builds and replaces asphalt driveways for Loch Arbour homeowners, and handles asphalt parking lots for nearby commercial properties, beach clubs and associations along this stretch of the shore.

A village of a few blocks

Loch Arbour is officially a village, a rare form of municipal government in New Jersey, and it is almost entirely residential. Streets run a short distance from Main Street (Route 71) toward the ocean, and the homes are a mix of older shore houses and larger newer houses. Lots are mid-sized for the shore, with driveways that are usually straight, single- or double-width runs to a garage.

Because the village is so small, every property shares conditions with its neighbors: ocean exposure, sandy ground and the water of Deal Lake close by. Driveway replacement here is less about fixing one problem and more about building for the setting. Our asphalt driveway paving page describes the full process.

Sand, salt and the lake

Loch Arbour sits on loose coastal sand with a water table that rises near both the ocean and Deal Lake. Sand settles if it is not compacted, and soft spots near the lake can hold water. Our base preparation here involves:

  1. Excavating the old driveway and any loose fill beneath it.
  2. Compacting the native sand thoroughly before adding stone.
  3. Building a layered, compacted stone base.
  4. Finishing with a grade that drains toward the street.

Lots for nearby clubs and businesses

Loch Arbour has very little commercial property of its own, but beach clubs, shops and multi-family buildings in the surrounding area all rely on parking lots that see heavy summer use. Our parking lot paving service covers repaving, base repair and drainage corrections for those owners.

Check first

The village has its own rules on curb cuts, aprons and lot coverage. Contact the Loch Arbour village office or its construction and zoning official before changing a driveway.

We also work in neighboring Allenhurst and Interlaken. See the rest of our service area on the Monmouth County paving page.

Loch Arbour paving questions

Loch Arbour homes are close to the ocean. Does salt air affect an asphalt driveway?

Salt air and wind-blown sand are hard on any outdoor surface, but a properly built asphalt driveway handles them well. What matters most is a dense, well-compacted surface with no low spots where salty water can sit. We roll the asphalt thoroughly and grade it so rain rinses off toward the street.

Can you pave a small Loch Arbour driveway on the same visit as other work in the area?

Often, yes. Loch Arbour is tiny and many driveways here are short, so we can sometimes schedule them alongside other jobs in Allenhurst, Interlaken or Ocean Township. Coordinating nearby work can make it easier to find a date, especially in the busy summer months.
